H — Laceration resistant
Highest tensile strength and elongation of the three. Specified for sharp, heavy lump material — run-of-mine ore, blasted rock, frozen clinker — where impact tearing is the main failure mode, not surface wear.
D — Anti-abrasive
Tightest abrasion limit (≤100mm³) of the range. The right call for continuous fine-material duty — sand, coal fines, crushed aggregate — run long hours in cold outdoor yards.
L — Ordinary
General-purpose cold resistant cover for bagged goods, packaged freight, and lighter bulk material where H- or D-grade performance isn't required.

What's the practical difference between C1 and C2?
C1 covers −45°C to +50°C and suits most seasonal-freeze regions. C2 extends to −60°C and is the correct spec for continuous deep-winter operation — Arctic and sub-Arctic sites, or cold storage set well below standard freezer temperature.
Do I need H, D, or L cover for a cold climate mine?
Match the cover type to the material, not just the temperature. Sharp frozen ore or blasted rock calls for H; continuous fine abrasive material calls for D; general bagged or packaged loads run fine on L. Cold resistance grade (C1/C2) is specified independently of cover type.
Does cold resistance trade off against abrasion resistance?
No — the NR/BR cold-resistant compound is formulated separately from the abrasion rating, so a D-type cover still hits its abrasion limit (≤100mm³) whether it's built to C1 or C2 spec.
Can this belt be spliced and installed in sub-zero field conditions?
Vulcanized splicing is still recommended over mechanical fasteners for cold service, but on-site cold-weather splicing needs a heated splice tent or enclosure — we can advise on splice method based on your installation temperature.
